You may have to go through hell to enter heaven

A crisis leaves the heart-mind enduring painful impressions that can still get touched upon when having to deal with a very negative situation years later. This indicates there is still some inner vulnerability when having to face another negative in its various expressions.

Such traumatic event points to a collision of consciousness with a disrupted heart/mind/body in the inner life. Inner – outer listening, love and wisdom contribute to the fading influence of the crisis in the depth of being.

With some renewal of equilibrium, then there is the possibility for something deep to move from the deep – a fresh voice, an inquiry into the spiritual, the sense of what matters and a real concern for the welfare of the other (person, persons, animals, environment etc).

In religious terms, a person may have to pass through hell to open the door into heaven – love, trust, service, creativity and freedom of being.

The depths makes us mindful of the vulnerability of old hurts impacting on present negative situations.

The same depths also release passion, the quest for truth and deep aspiration for a real contact with another(s) who know the depths and loves the depths, and a certain risk that can go with the depth. There is the risk of a spiritual crisis, a struggle to make sense of life and the potential to grasp onto notions of personal failure.  Access to the deep offer the potential for a genuine waking up not bound to simplistic one-liners.

There is no substitute for the revelations and realisations from the deep. They are inexhaustible.

Love

Christopher
