The Buddha on Freedom from Conflict. An online workshop on the conditions for conflict. Saturday 1 February 2025

Do join our workshop. Offered on donation.

We will explore the nature of conflict. Are we turning a blind eye to conflict? What needs to change within? What steps to take to change a painful situation outside of ourselves?

From not seeing clearly, the wrath of clinging onto views and opinions arise. From such clinging comes conflict with others who cling to their views and opinions.

This triggers self-righteousness on both sides. With politicians, it can lead to genocide, the wilful killing and maiming of the innocent, young or old, of anyone with the same nationality.

Others stay neutral, an act of irresponsibility, a laziness to find a view, ethical, skilful and wise to resolve conflic at home or abroad. This can lead to domestic violence, to arguing, divorce, withdrawal of love and coldness in the heart and mind.

The world has become a mess due to conflict. Are we in conflict with others? Are we in conflict with ourselves?

The Workshop

In a profound discourse, the Budha’s teachings points out conflict produces “suffering, despair and fever.” His teachings engage in deep exploration of the suffering born of conflict, personal, social and political. Our workshop will draw upon the Buddha.

To change the conditions for conflict ends the conflict and the consequences.

The workshop gives priority to this exploration to realise a state of being at peace with oneself and with others.
